Educate and Train Chinese Doctors in the U.S.A.

CURE is providing the opportunity for advanced education and training to Chinese doctors who want to come to The United States and learn how we treat pediatric cancer. This is being done with the help of The Children’s Oncology Group which through CURE has committed to assist China in increasing the cure rate of pediatric cancer.

The training they receive will prepare them to develop Centers of Excellence for treating pediatric cancer in China. CURE estimates that China needs no less than 135 Centers of Excellence staffed by doctors who have received advanced training.

Help to Develop Training Centers and Aid in Healthcare Planning in China

CURE is training doctors in America that will be skilled enough with the western protocols to train other doctors in China on early diagnostic skills and after care techniques. CURE is working with several Chinese organizations such as the Soong  Ching Ling Foundation / China Welfare Institute (SCLF/CWI) that will be involved with efforts to raise money in China and develop three training centers where this atmosphere of learning can occur.

This is the kind of cooperation needed that can assist in turning a 95% mortality rate into an 80% survival rate. Click to see diagrams

Develop Twinning Hospital Relationships

We need to ensure that the flow of information and availability of training continues so that progress can continue. CURE and organizations in China are striving to build twinning relationships between hospitals involved with the training of the Chinese physicians in the United States and the hospitals that become Centers of Excellence.   Sharing of all forms of data has been a key to success in the advancement of treatment in the United States. Extending this pipeline of information to China where there are a large number of children that need treatment, will be extremely beneficial to the success of CURE’s program for China.

The concept really is that simple in the beginning. China just does not have the experience and structure to diagnose and treat pediatric cancer as successfully as we do in The United States. They have between 40 and 50 thousand new cases diagnosed each year in addition to those that are undiagnosed. The imparting of knowledge and experience is an enormous gift to our neighbors in China.

It begins with educating and training their doctors, our neighbors, in the protocols used in the western world.  It is the moral and compassionate way to treat our fellow man.

That is the way CURE will assist China and the world to improve their cure rates in pediatric cancer. CURE is only as strong and determined as the people who care. The task is a large and daunting one, and it cannot be done without the support of many compassionate people.
